Following a missile strike on a U.S. airbase in Qatar by Iran, Qatar Airways flight QR541 from Doha to Kolkata was delayed, affecting schedules at Kolkata Airport. The flight, originally expected to arrive late Sunday night, could not depart on time due to heightened security protocols. Airport sources confirmed that the flight eventually left Doha around 5 AM on Monday and is expected to land in Kolkata by 12:45 PM.
The delay impacted the return schedule as well. The outbound flight from Kolkata to Doha could not take off until the arrival of QR541. In the meantime, boarding passes of 38 passengers scheduled to travel to Qatar from Kolkata were cancelled. According to airport officials, the cancellations were due to operational and scheduling constraints related to the ongoing security developments in Qatar.
Temporary arrangements were made for the affected passengers, including accommodation in nearby hotels. Ground staff at Kolkata Airport handled the rescheduling process and managed passenger queries. Enhanced security measures were also reported at the terminal, with additional coordination underway between the airline and airport authorities to monitor the situation and manage further delays.
